![]() ![]() So, I just got a screaming deal on a Cedarberg 1600 phase converter - had to pay $1 more than the 1300 - $6! Less than the cost of a used VFD on ebay. ![]() The motor is a 1hp motor with a variable speed drive built in, sort of like the speedrangers that came on the P&W 3C mills and lathes (which is what this is going on), so I will have more torque at low speeds than a VFD.Īlso, for those fellow cheapsakes out there (and you know who you are), the speedranger cost me $50 and the phase converter cost $5. I know, someone is going to say "Use a VFD". Got my first three phase motor, so I'm going to have to use it. You can see the current model on page 2 of their catalog: Got it at an estate sale and figured I'd need it one of these days. I have a Cedarberg 1300 static phase converter (1hp-3hp) that I have not yet hooked up because I haven't needed it. ![]()
